Capítulo 60 Gobernar un país grande es como freir pescados pequeños. Cuando se gobierna el mundo de acuerdo con el Tao los espíritus mundanos no tienen poder espiritual. Mejor dicho, no es que los espíritus no tengan poder, sino que su poder ya no daña a los hombres. Mejor aún, no es que su poder ya no daña a los hombres, sino que el sabio nunca daña a los hombres. El sabio y los hombres no se dañan mutuamente y así retornan a la Virtud del Tao. |
* * * 治大国，若烹小鲜。 以道莅天下 其鬼不神 非其鬼不神 其神不伤人 非其神不伤人 圣人亦不伤人 夫两不相伤 故德交归焉 |
Rule a big country as you would fry small fish. Who rules the world in accord with Tao Shall find that the spirits lose their power. It is not that the spirits lose their power, But that they cease to do people harm. It is not (only) that they cease to do people harm, The Sage (himself) also does no harm to the people. When both do not do each other harm, The original character is restored. |
